Silent shards scatter;
Ship, Melbricta firework.
Memory beams home.

anemone bathes in blue;

Uncanny valley:
Recoil from too-like phizzog.
Don't punch out my lights.

Melbricta's final kiss,
Malice from one made heartless.
Sigurd: biter bit.

(scarves pixilate, evanesce);
rages for reward.

I think I'll mainly be over here this month, doing this.

On the verges, war:
"Chaos Paintball" at odds with
"Naseby Battlesite".

Two more: there's nothing like being stuck next to a feverish, dozing girlie for getting a long novel finished.

haiku and hiking (kinda)... )

The cow, taking a big
dreamy crap, turning
To look at me

... in the Grauniad. Since I've been doing all this reading of Japanese death poems, there's an obvious, and quick (?), format:

Dumble- leaves the room
Through the "exit only" -dore
Snape refines CV

I've got Looby Loo trained to drag me away from any display of books on sale--even second hand--with cries of "You're not to buy any more books, Mummy!" Last week I went into town with the Aged P however and bought one book (admittedly twice over, the second copy being a birthday present for my brother (who I fairly safely assume doesn't read this)). So another interstitial completion

death )

Teetered from a brink
Their slick, slim fall suspended
Winter stilettoed.

Not sure it in any way redeems four unproductive months. But there it is.

Not done one since the autumn. So a haiku in honour of the currently clement weather (and its inevitable feline consequences):

Outside wind-blown drifts
Thaw; indoors moulted fur piles.
Time for the spring clean.

Carapace bursts, lights
Spill bead-strung across the blue.
Dull snails draw in horns.

[I don't do horoscopes, don't believe in some intervening hand of fate, but I can't avoid sometimes falling into the trap of reading more into coincidence.... Hell, it hits the mood.]

Today's Merriam-Webster Word of the Day is revenant.

[And to add to the cheer...]

This Other Autumn

Dog piss laps lamp posts
That tick 'til dusk sodiums.
Dust dry leaves skitter.

I'm sorry, not much of a Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness here.
