Caught from [livejournal.com profile] boxofdelights. "List five fictional people -- from television, movies, books, whatever -- that you had a crush on as a child (or early teens). Then post this on your LiveJournal so other people can know what a dork you've always been."

Well, I have a problem with this in that my "crushes" rather involved my wanting to be the person in question. So with that caveat, here's the list:

  1. Harald Sigurdson
  2. Mr Spock
  3. Dr Who (in the Tom Baker incarnation)
  4. Kerr Avon
  5. Sherlock Holmes
(I left out Thomas Covenant 'cos I don't actually think I ever wanted to be him. He did occupy my thoughts somewhat tho'.)

Invent a memory of us and post it in the comments. It can be anything you want, so long as it's something that's never happened. Then, of course, post this to your journal and see what people would like to remember of you, only the universe failed to cooperate in making it happen so they had to make it up instead.

Copycatting [livejournal.com profile] sbisson, yesterday's great random spam subject line was "extort alcestis jigging"** from which great tragedy ought to rise. The non-random spam subject line that caught our beadies was: "Re: mysterious masked magician". Is that merely a magician or the_magicianthe magician?

* Not a sport, just a meme.

** Which contains the interesting link (not clicked***) "Not intreseted" which had us intrigued.

*** The linked not clicked, like the road not taken, as we're certain we've remarked before. Not just copy cats but parrots too.

We're beginning to think that there was one item missing in or original list of thoughts about Fred.

you can't still be going on about this, can you? )

(It really needs a good name, or we'll have to call it Fred.)

We're becoming increasingly tempted to map it, tho' the rate at which it seems to be spreading that really could be some task. It's fascinating us in a way that neither the subject nor the evolution and spread of any other meme has.

Why? )

Hell, we've not only been sucked into a meme, but into the activity of analysing the damned thing. So which one of those is the big flea feeding off the other?
