Misconceptions

Scanning the weekly TLS book alert email (a joy for its juxtapositions: Koontz next to Barker, that's Pat Barker) we saw: Alfred the Great: Papers from the 11th-century conferences. Sadly the conferences happened in 1999. Proceedings from 1100 years earlier would have been so much more fun.
