yonmei asked, having got it from steer, "What things do you really LIKE to receive through the post? What sends your little heart into a happy tizzy when you realise that's what it is?"

To which we say:

1. A letter from old friend, old flame N, who's the best writer of letters and postcards we know.
2. Birthday card from the ravens' little brother. Inevitably late, always apt, and a pleasure to receive.
3. Books. New Folio Society hardbacks, Folio Society hardbacks got cheap on eBay, embroidery books, mixed packages from Amazon.
4. CDs. We seem to have ordered most of the CDs we've bought recently online, from Amazon and a variety of more interesting retailers. Roll on the Hungarian piano and 20th Century Hungarian flute solos we're waiting for right now!
5. Yarns and fabrics. Yarns, especially, since they tend to bounce from their packaging, plump and ripe for knitting, or slither out sleek and drapy ready for embroidery.
6. Looby Loo's Disney Princess magazine. Her pleasure and excitement, and her growing ability to read the stories herself, is a delight.
7. Neem. 'Nuff said.
