Two Magpies

«Craa-aa-aa-k!»
«Chirrrrr!»
Out of the dusk, two magpies, each perched on a gable end chimney pot, one either side of the road, greet the ravens. They take off and proceed to follow us down the road.
Maybe it's just the black cloak that's attracting them; maybe, it really is good news. But the ravens aren't superstitious. It's out of pure habit that we stop and say:
"Good evening, Mister Magpie! Good evening, Mister Magpie!"
No hat to tip to them, tonight.
