Well, supposing the meal is cheaper than paying for access elsewhere, then one needn't actually eat it. (But wasting food, that's wrong. Even if the food is only "food".) Confession: we've not been in a McDonald's since we were in Stratford-Upon-Avon in the early eighties, and we don't recall there being much seating, if any at all, and certainly no encouragement to stay a while to consume one's purchases. Things must've changed.
