So finally got round to TWAS, after a gap of a couple of weeks (even with a link from our home page, we sometimes forget to look each week). No, we don't read this primarily for the music reviews, interesting tho' they may be: most of it is stuff we'll never get round to listening to or even want to listen to. But the sheer joy of the writing! And the punctuation pedantry. A chorus of cawed approval.
In today's Northerner a piece about our favourite hotel and the commission of a "10-minute animation based on the antics of staff at the Adelphi hotel".
We'll have to keep our eyes out for the result.
From the TLS (sorry, this really is descending to a lightly-commented list of links--maybe the other words are being deposited elsewhere) comes Planet Narnia. Only skimmed it so far; will return for a further read later on. (Note we were told not to read Lewis' academic writings by an eminent Cambridge medievalist, so we're completely ignorant. Of course, it could have been meant as a joke. But, for once, we did as we were told.)
