The World Turned Upside Down-ish
Jun. 21st, 2003 08:55 pmWalked to music (penultimate MusicNOW! class, another marker in LL's progress) at 9.30 bst with the moon hovering over us in a clear blue sky.
In Bargain Books at 11.20, there were no HPs left (and I bet they didn't open at midnight), although at 14.00 Waitrose still had plenty.
If we'd wandered into Borders just after midnight last night (the same Borders that two years ago stayed open until 23.00 on most nights and now chucks us out at ten if we're lucky (and the Starbucks closes earleir)) and tried to buy something other than the book or its prequels, would we have been allowed to do so? We love buying books late in the evening: after all it's when we read most of 'em. We were too tired to carry out the experiment.
