Ironing

When we used to iron bedding chez les parents, the ravens would, with the fitted sheets, especially those for the single beds, concentrate on the middle portion and not bother with the tricky gathered bits at the corners. Now, flat sheets work much better with the futon, so we get to iron those instead (tho' it is one of the jobs we palm off on M occasionally). But double sheets are a pain: even folded in half lengthwise they're too wide to fit completely across the length of the ironing board, thereby necessitating four passes along the length of the sheet. Or is there a better way? Should we do a stripe down the middle, omitting the very centre line (the only person to sleep there for any length of time is a cat) or should we simply omit the side bits that tuck under the futon and iron by the crease?

Anyone who dares raise the heresy of not ironing, shall henceforth be plagued by immitigable wrinkles and creases! Hah!

Having last Saturday night, or rather, well into the early hours of Sunday morning, extolled the joys of walking thorough the night prior to launching ourselves off on a lone night flight home, we're entirely unsurprised that "Out of the Night" is rapidly becoming our favourite track from Echoes: The Einaudi Collection
