So says the NYTimes (free registration required).

Percussionists--and harpists--banished to the "sky pit" down the corridor from the understudies' dressing room."I could play there in my underwear, and they would have no idea what's going on," Mr. Herman, the percussionist, said.
[...]
"I just find this much more civilized," Mr. Herman said.

Actually, aside from the temptation to make remarks about sending drummers elsewhere (would we dare?!), it's a fascinating look at the lives of professional musicians.

And elsewhere, the little making of programme on Sky Movies this morning featured Bride and Prejudice which has just opened. (Not that we'd've noticed without [livejournal.com profile] purpletigron's mention of it). Very pretty. If the adaptation's not literally faithful to the original, it certainly gives impression that it'll feel right. And they do have a very dashing Darcy. (We're remaining entirely faithful to David Rintoul tho': showing our age a little.)
