The Indy tells me: Scotland to get its first new malt distillery in a generation The article says:

Diageo is to build Scotland's first major malt distillery in more than 30 years as it expands its whisky operations after a huge surge in demand from emerging markets.

This must be news to the Isle of Arran folk. The press release (Diageo looks to the future with £100m Scotch Whisky investment) on the Diageo site makes no claim to being the first new distillery in Scotland in a generation, it's just journalistic claptrap. And ignorance. Bah!
