Goodbye Small Kitten
Aug. 17th, 2012 04:17 pmI've buried the (unidentified neighbours') kitten that tangled with a car last night. And fumigated the floor--and me--since the indoor cats don't like the smell. (They didn't like the smell last night after I'd cuddled the poor little blighter before wrappnig him up safely and out of easy reach of foxes. Even after I'd washed.)
He's under the gooseberry bush, the other side from Big, near the chickens. Someone had been busy in the garden, so I added the dead blackbird to the grave. It's either company or dinner for wherever the kitten goes to. It's going to be quiet without him coming into the back garden: we might have liked him--he was very soppy--but the hens did not.
[Of course, I'm now kicking myself, as I didn't think until after I'd disposed of him, that the Blue Cross presumably have the means of reading chipped cats' IDs (they have chipping sessions at the centre), but it's too late now. I'll pop in and let them know that the cat was found, in case the owners look for him there.]
