 So, somewhat after bedtime last night, there was a sudden loud crash outside the house and the various voices and a small amount of commotion. A car, coming--presumably too fast--over the railway bridge into town, crashed through the barriers, crossed the outbound lane of the dual carriageway and...

Somehow managed to stop before hitting either our car or any of the houses in the terrace. No-one hurt (thank goodness).

This morning, much crumpled barrier, much glass on road.
