Up pretty betimes...

As Sam said in 1663. And actually I was--and the unusual burst of energy carried me through:

  1. Washing the bottom of the hen coop (much less smelly than anticipated)
  2. Tesco, for milk and raisins and cash
  3. Post Office to pick up parcel of Peruvian alpaca that I'd ordered from the US. (Still a good deal with the VAT.)
  4. Home and a friend and her grandson popping in
  5. A visit from the builders to look at a damp patch
  6. Washing up.
Admittedly, I'd not planned the two visits and had intended to have ironed by now.

So, as Sam continues, I

shall, I hope, come to myself and business again, after a small playing the truant....
I do so love echoing Pepys.

Meanwhile, the chickens love bread. There was actual competitive pecking to get at the bread. So that's the ends of the home-made loaves put to good use.
