Walking home, enjoying the rain, a little before midnight, we were overhauled by a police cars, lights flashing though blessedly no siren, followed by an RAF fire engine, the logos on the side looking like relics from WWII (though the vehicle in question's probably a tad newer than that, but not much), followed by a pickup with shovels and brooms in the back. Aha, the strike began at 6.00pm.
