Cat-shaped spanner in the works

We were all packed up and set to go by 8.30 this morning--yesterday's cooking packed into the car, bags packed, Latin homework sorted for ongoing work--when we checked on Little. Who was ill. Blood in the urine ill. Which in a 16-year old cat with dodgy kidneys and continuing weight loss is not the best thing.

So we begged an emergency appointment at our wonderful vets and whizzed Little over there. It could be simply cystitis, but the bladder's small, hard, and it doesn't feel like a stone. Could be swelling from an infection or a growth. So, I'm sitting here with a cat to pill. M and LL are off to my Dad's to have a weekend away with friends.

A bit like last year really.

I did consider asking for a volunteer for twice-a-day pilling, but quite honestly I'd've worried so much leaving her that I decided I'd rather do it myself.

We unpacked my stuff from the car and M and LL left a couple of hours later than planned.
