Between blotch and blok

Hmm. I am thinking about a netbook. I like my phone, but while it's fine for making brief posts / comments / emails, I would like to be able to type longer things while I am travelling. Any (dis) recommendations?

Still, I don't expect to be making more than day trips anywhere for the rest of this year once Oxonmoot is done; so I have no pressing need. And although a quick look shows that such things are available fairly cheaply, there are other things I'd like to buy; and more clutter is not high on my list. Hmmm.
