Haven't seen the Mallory Towers series and probably won't bother as what I've heard about it from a friend pretty much guarantees it will hit my too-much-unnecessary-deviation-from-the-books buttons.
Compared to me, she's not fussy about that sort of thing but it managed to hit the few buttons she has, and put her right off it, so I've got no chance with it.
