The things you learn...

With the household unable to go out (two of us now with C-19 and one of us coughing their way out the other end), we ordered a delivery of groceries. (I need to remember after this is over that Tesco conveniently no longer recognised a login that I'd used not too long ago and had no slots even for click and collect and that the Co-op across the river did and even delivers on the same day. My nipping in to the supermarket after work might include something of a detour in future in order to continue using the latter over the (far more convenient) former.) None of my usual oat milk was available, so we took the alternative on offer, which was the "barista" version. Tastes the same (I begged some from the brilliant coffee stall at Bromyard last year to put in my tea, so I knew that for sure), but....
I feel a bit like Paddington Bear.
I put my porage oats into my nice vented porage container and added some water and a splash of the offending milk. Pretty much in the usual quantities and proportions. Stuck it in the microwave. After less than a minute it was like the 1812 overture. Whatever it is that makes the coffee frothy, also causes explosive cereals. There was a wee bit left inside the container, but not a lot.
Cleaning the residue from the innards of the microwave has wiped me out. I'm still not beating the bug.

I know I shouldn't, but the explosive porridge gave me a laugh. Thankyou for sharing that.

Best wishes for speedy recoveries all 'round from me and Tom.

(fellow user of oat milk makes notes) Hope you all feel better soon. We're still all ok but the boy is going a bit stir crazy.

So, barista oat milk == lava. Good to know.

Also, what a bloody pain having to clean out the microwave :(

I hadn't heard that you were ill. Very best wishes to you and the family.
