I've only read May's "Lewis trilogy" novels, none of his other works. If you like crime fiction set on remote islands, it's not bad. I'd start at the beginning of the series tho'. I think Ann Cleeves' Shetland novels, similar setting and themes, are better written.

The cat article is somewhat scary.
