More of the (Meta-)Fred Thread

We're beginning to think that there was one item missing in or original list of thoughts about Fred.

The missing point (deliberately going against our general contention that a single-point bulleted list is an abomination):
  • A challenge to creativity. There are two points at which anyone playing the game gets to make a creative input--posing questions and answering questions--rather than the more usual one. The creation of questions is maybe more of a challenge than giving answers: we start with a blank slate only limited by our own preconcenptions about what we can ask. Hence, they're more of a challenge. Reacting is much easier. Posing questions is, however, also an opportunity, another place in which to engage in all those display activities we indulge in within our posts--but with a (slightly more) guaranteed audience.

Yes - which is why I prefer the being invited to ask questions, because I can guarantee my own creativity in getting to invent the questions (and that's the fun part) whereas not everyone is good at asking good questions that are fun to answer.
