Shopped and Rebalanced

Passed the jewelry stall outside the Grafton Centre, on our way to do more important shopping. A reminder, if we needed one, that we'd mislaid our everyday ear cuff a couple of weeks ago and we were still feeling naked and somewhat lopsided without it. We do have other ear cuffs, but they tend to be dangly or DS9 Bajoran style--not quite everyday wear (and we do mean every day). So we bought two, one a solid cuff, not quite as nice as the missing one, and one delicate little filigree one. Somehow this restores our balance.
Of course, a bit like the days when we primarily wore contact lenses and occasionally had to wear specs, no-one noticed. The ravens do tie their hair back or wear it up most of the time. We suppose it means we are almost as invisible as we believe and those odd moments of worry about wearing an ear cuff, whilst otherwise very conservatively dressed, for job interviews were unnecessary.
Haven't bought ourselves any jewelry in ages.
The major purchases were, of course, musical:
- Two from LL's listening list (Gould playing Bach, excerpts from Die Zauberflöte)
- the Einaudi we're currently listening to (LL commented on the piece on him on the Today programme on Monday morning, so we thought we'd give it a try)
- William Bennett (our second favourite flutist) playing the Bach flute sonatas
- Clare College choir singing Xmas carols (old loyalties, eh!)
- John Harle and Clare College choir doing "A finer truth" by James Whitbourn
We think we did better than LL did, but Dino Lupatti was in short supply. So we'll be off up the Amazon soon to see what's available online.
