Finally, we have a new hot water cylinder, a new, huge radiator for the bathroom, and plumbers--or plumber and trainee (accident-prone). We may have water by tonight. Though maybe not stove until tomorrow. So no cooking tonight.
Of course this means, no access to back bedroom (LL's room) 'cos the floor's up to remove the old heating pump and the loft ladder's down, no access to bathroom, floorboards up on the landing, contents of cupboard under the stairs (where the gas comes into the house) spread round downstairs where furniture's also been moved to get at some of the pipes, Cats, when I found where they were hiding, now locked in front bedroom, which we can't get to due to lack of floorboards, plumbing kit, plumbers... on landing. Front door's wide open: it's noisy and chilly.
And, having decamped to our favourite cafe earlier on for a pleasant lunch, we don't care. So, how many double mochas did that take? Will we ever sleep again?
