Apart from parcel deliveries, it's rare or anyone to come to the ravens' front door on a weekday--Looby Loo's return from school (to be greeted everytime with "not today thank you!" 'cos I'm a boring old fart) excepted. Today's mini-avalanche was the exception.

It started just after lunch with the Blue Cross paying a visit trying to locate the people whose tortie cat they'd picked up off the road. Couldn't help them, except by confirming I'd seen the cat around a couple of times. Sad that's it's gone: it was a cutie.

Next it was neighbour with small child on bike from up the terrace. He uses the locked gate by our front door and had broken his key. So I handed over ours so he could get a copy. Failed to remember to ask about flat cat.

Later ms_cataclysm dropped off the key to all cat feeding. She left as my gate key was returned. (Mustn't get the two keys mixed up!)

Finally, for our door at least, Looby Loo came home. She'd just seen someone plastering their house and the street furniture with notices about a--my heart sank--missing cat.

I put on my coat and wandered down the terrace to knock on another door.
