Mother's Day

My mother refused to have anything to do with Mother's Day (which she regarded as a token gesture, and Christian to boot) and I've always regarded it with indifference. And now we're no longer in the primary-school-annual-homemade-card-stage I don't expect the day to be marked in any way. So being presented with a homemde pair of bead earrings today was a very nice surprise.
