This is the major reason for not having read much the last few weeks (and the thing that kept me sane when my bad back incapacitated me):

I'm now very low on spare bits of sock yarn.

I have a new chicken, courtesy of a lift to the suppliers with smallphoenix . New, as yet unnamed, lady is a Black Rock like my original Miss Jack. Pictures will follow, when she's free to roam with the rest of the flock.
