On my first long stay in Cambridge (2 weeks at a conference) I saw, or saw the results of, two near-identical accidents. I'm sure I've seen more since but these stuck in my mind.

So I think you've been lucky to see only one accident in 13 years. Lets hope its another 13 years before you see another!
