Between blotch and blok

Hugs were, unusually, necessary. I don't normally burst into, albeit brief, tears in the school playground and have M hug me better (good thing it was Monday and we were both there).

On the way to my first supervision almost twenty (ouch!) years back I did witness a traffic accident. The squirrel involved, having bounced off the front of the car, scampered across my feet on its way to the trees. I've been living with the hope ever since that it was therefore as little harmed as it seemed. It's probably a good thing I couldn't follow the beast to find out, thereby making myself late with a weird excuse quite so early in my rather chequered academic career.
