First up, we're all waiting with bated breath for the replacement to all that boring equestrianism. Bringing the challenge of man working in harmony with loyal mount into the twentieth century, we have bulldozing. And not just straight races. Combining (combining, now that'd be more useful) the precision of dressage with the grace of show jumping, Beijing 2008 brings us mass demolition of the old city and land clearance for Olympic parks.
And if that's not enough to whet your appetite, why not join the team sport of peaceful mass protest? Mind how you go though: whilst you won't get a medal, you might cop a prison sentence at the end of the games.
For the traditionalist, however, some long-standing events have been retained: running the maze of bureaucracy to attempt to claim compensation or justice for a loved-one still figures in the Beijing line-up. Fencing themselves in, developers still pull stunning manoeuvres--backhanders all round--in their quest for that elusive gold.
Sport in all its olympian glory: don'tcha just love it?
