Ah well. I suppose if you've heard nothing after ten (working) days you assume you've not got the second interview. Well, I had. And rightly so, since I could tell before my contact at the agency actually gave me the news that that's what the answer was. Still, it wasn't because I'd f***ed up the interview. The job spec's been changed and all five people interviewed have therefore been eliminated. Sigh. As specc-ed and within the organisation described, it all looked really rather interesting. Maybe some other time, when they don't require VB programming experience.
Muninn and Huginn have learned from this: if only that 'phone interviews are horrendous. No visual cues, body language, facial expression. There's a loss of subtlety in what can be read from tone of voice, too, however clear 'phone lines are.
Which leads to a new line of enquiry. How does one approach a 'phone interview?
The unscientific poll so far indicates that Muninn and Huginn were right in most people's opinion to go for the treating it like an interview done in person, doing the corvine equivalent of wearing a tie. Interview suit and war paint, anyway.
Heigh ho.
