Snow is, apparently, a personal insult from the weather gods.
It takes them all morning to comes to terms with the affront and actually venture out from their run. Hard frost is fine: they pick their way over it quite happily. Snow makes them flounce around in a strop.
Actually, I fel sorry for them as it's cold and wet. Wet does cause them to have soggy feathers, Jack especially.
