Out of the mouths...

I was in the process of configuring LL's email (via me for a human spam check) and got M to send a test. His nice secure email arrived in the spam folder.

"Ooh," I said, "you've been flagged as spam."

"What's spanked as flam?"

What does one say?

Won't you have to spank the flam filter?

You say "it's a thing drummers do" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flam)

(He says "you say, enunciating more clearly, "No, dear: flagged as spam").

Reminds me: I must go to the Balderdash and Piffle site and see what reaction there was to the re-definition of 'normal' in last week's programme. It seems to me that the OED was wrong to reject the re-definition, because it _is_ a new usage - normal (!) meaning, but as a term of ridicule. I want to see if 'mundane' with the same new usage has been recorded.

Yours, adding 'learn how to flamaddidle' to the list of things I want to do before I die.
