Yesterday: planted five large pots with sweet peas, ran out of compost.

Today: M and I laid a lawn with cheap turf from B&Q. The garden has been occupied by two gigantic juvenile blackbirds--and their overworked dad. Mum must be having a lie in.

Cukes are still shooting up. Nothing else has sprouted.

Must plant chives.
