Sorted
Was finding the pair of bookworms on Beeb 2 encouraging us to nominate our favourite book increasingly annoying and troublesome. And finally, we've realized why.
They're sad, bloated and very grey, these worms. Evidently suffering from some kind of deficiency. But then if they persist in sticking to a limited diet of one favourite book, what else would you expect?
Best-loved book? Singular. Huh? Paint us polybibliophiles* and unfaithful with it. Well, you should see the queue we have by our nest.
How about nominations for the favourite library/collection instead?
* Ouch that's one of those dreadful mixed portmanteaus tangling its Latin and Greek roots.

Exactly. Just one book? I own no bookworms that would be content even to nominate just one writer.
Re:
The BBC "thing" is limited to fiction only. Its nomination form is tedious, skewed, and ripe to be broken. I'm tempted to nominate the Bible just to see how it copes. Well, if it's not fiction, surely it counts at least as a novelisation.
