So long... Obscure Black Raincoat
Oct. 21st, 2014 03:14 pmCan't remember precisely when I bought it (where? yes: a long-gone boutique on Rose Crescent; how much? £60), but I'm sure I had it for the year of long black things ('86-'87; don't ask), and it may even have been as early as late '85, but it's showing its age: the rolled-back sleeves with the stripy lining, the raglan sleeves and b-i-i-g shoulder pads, the length of the slit up the back (with the buttons at the top), the depth of the v on the front. I wore it regularly into the early nineties when I needed to be office smart for work, but not so much since. It (and a couple of other unworn coats) are off to the charity bins.
I suppose I should take a nostalgic photo (or a few).
Some things don't change: the pockets are full of clean, folded-up paper tissues.
