Free to a Good Home

Last year's, and hence not all that out-of-date, National Trust Handbook. We have a new one and, for once, the desire to keep a complete chronological collection of such items has not kicked in. So if you know of any folk who aren't members but might like to make use of the information, we could pass the old copy on.

Well, maybe we could do a swap if you have an old English Heritage handbook? I'm not an English Heritage member.

My first year of English Heritage, I bought the membership when entering Eltham Palace, and then didn't use it again for the 15 months I had it (12+3 extra for direct debit).

When I finally rejoined (didn't renew as it has been too long between when I'd joined before), it was last year at Stonehenge and this time I have used the membership more ... I went to Avebury that same afternoon and my new membership gave me free parking! Er ... that's it! And Avebury gives free parking to both English Heritage *and* National Trust members (you go to the pay and display, press the EH/NT button and when the ticket comes out, you write your membership number on it and stick it in your car's window!)

I'll see if I can find a handbook while I'm tidying up (don't laugh!) and if pickledginger wants last year's, then she gets first refusal (of course).

With three of us, and Looby Loo now old enough to need to pay (though she doesn't always have to) it doesn't take long for a joint membership to pay for itself, especially with Wimpole Hall Home Farm nearby.

You and/or pickledginger are welcome to the old handbook, regardless of possibility of a swap.
