Nearly Time to Test Sod's Law
Jan. 6th, 2003 01:02 amAbout to extinguish the Xmas tree before bed. All gets packed away tomorrow.
Question is: what are the odds that the lights that failed early enough on Xmas Eve that M went out and bought spare bulbs (didn't fit--I guess we've had them long enough--8+ years--that we can't blame B&Q for not having bulbs that fit any more [though we're sure the lights the ravens' parents had lasted for a decade and a half]) and then went out and bought replacement lights will work when we try them again later on today before either binning or storing away for next year?
The replacements are so pretty--little transparent flowers with frosted tips to their petals--that we're seriously considering finding some piece of furniture to wrap them round for the foreseeable. Or would that be too tasteless? Looby Loo, it has to be said, would approve. But then she's into Barbie pink. (At four that's almost forgiveable.)
