Baking in Good Company
Feb. 17th, 2003 03:27 pmWe've always rather resisted Sylvia Plath (and no this does not indicate some partisan support for Ted Hughes, by whom we've never entirely been convinced either). The "cult" of her suicide always put us off. The interest in the life and the relationship with TH. But after reading Baking with Sylvia we're with Sylvia and Kate Moses, in the kitchen, baking. Or jam making (more satisfying 'cos the results tend to last longer). (Are the dressmaking and embroidery part of the same thing?)
