We packed our sandwiches and headed of into the heat and saw the usual tractors, livestock (a disappointingly small number of beasts), funfair, craft tent.... The standard things for an agricultural show. Have to say, we weren't greatly impressed: any of the shows in the Cumbrain villages/valleys we've been to over the years have been as big and had more events. (Okay, we admit having the fellrunners race in Cambridgeshire would be a tall order.)

Still, we looked at traditional wooden hen houses. Picked up leaflets. We watched a lady spinning wool: Looby Loo was fascinated. She and the ravens also loved the alpaca. (No, we don't have the space. We don't even have the space for pigmy goats. We do, seemingly, have sufficient room for a couple of hens: tho' the bramble patch may have, finally, to go.)It was too hot, too sunny.
