Le weekend
Oct. 11th, 2004 08:53 amQuiet weekend chez the house of many colds. Had a natter to father-in-law on a subject of potential importance on Saturday morning whilst M and Looby Loo were out at swimming class. No qualifying sessions to watch. Bah--F1 in a typhoon would have been amusing.
Sunday saw M and LL up early to watch Grand Prix and sleeping birds left to lie. Went out hunting for plimsolls for LL who has lost hers. Never lose essential items of school kit half-way through the autumn term. It took five different stores before we found one pair that fit. (Also bought new wellies (Barbie) and vests.) Never, ever go shopping for boring things after the beginning of autumn term and expect to get away without sulks and tears: the shops are stuffed to the gills with Xmas tat, all of which is desirable if you're five. Watched Grand Prix. Wrong car won. A hat trick for Rubens would have been so much more satisfying. Watched the last half hour--ten minutes to full-time and twenty minutes of extra time--of the League 1 Rugby League final, cheering on the underdogs. Still unconvinced by League as opposed to Union.
