2010 projects
Jan. 2nd, 2010 02:20 pmor, the not quite ny resolutions post
Nope. No completely new NY resolutions for me. Last year's--not buying myself any books--spectacularly backfired: the unread pile is 25% larger, in spite of my buying no books for me. I'm continuing it anyway, OU/Manchester books excepted.
I'm also extending the no-buy rule to yarn: I will only purchase yarn relating to a queued project if I have none in the stash that is appropriate. Naturally, this doesn't stop me adding a project to the queue, but it does stop me buying odd balls (or several) just 'cos they're pretty and I might find a use for them sometime.
Within the possibly-attainable-this-year portion of the queued projects, there are two types of knit (or possibly, she types nervously, crochet): presents for other folk (for birthdays earlier in the year or Xmas if late) plus patterns adapted from Mrs Beeton's Book of Needlework ('cos there's nothing like knitting strange Victorian items). The only likely addition to that is to satisfy my need for a good pair of warm gloves or mittens in something non-aggravating to eczema so I don't always have frozen fingers from wearing my fingerless mits in sub-zero conditions.
I'm going to blog boringly about these at the very least in the monthly summary postings.
(I'm thinking up some writing goals, again as specific, hopefully achievable projects, in a similar manner.)
