Guerilla WriteFare: The Loafing Song
by Michael Knowles
When you're feeling all-in
And your patience is thin,
When you're feeling like you've had enoaf,
Just sit yourself down,
Make a face like a clown.
You hafta have time to loaf.
When the work's piling up
There are dregs in your cup,
And you're certain the boss is an oaf,
You don't have to cough
To have a day off!
You gotta make time to loaf!
No question about it,
If you have the time
Work will happ'ly expand just to fill it.
Why not take an hour --
Or perhaps even five --
And make it your aim just to kill it?
Two projects, you say?
Due on the same day?
And you committed yourself to do boaf?!?
You're counting the hours
But you'd rather pick flowers,
You gotta make time
-- It isn't a crime!
You hafta take time
-- Take my word, it's sublime!
You gotta make time to loaf!

We heartily recommend the weekly newsletter, even for those who aren't technical writers. A lot of good sense well-written, and generally not as bad poetry.
