Green-fingered, after all?

Topping up the water in the jam jar, very greenish looking it is in there too, over which is perched an avocado stone, I noticed a stalk had finally grown out of the almost entirely split stone. Hooray! I think I started this before Easter which is at the top end of the most pessimistic of waiting times I found when I googled for instructions way back then.
I'd seriously thought of giving up and ditching the thing several times. I'm now rather glad that I didn't.
There's no root that I can see yet, though it's hard to tell in all the green slime in the water. So, I'll wait a while longer before actually potting it on.
All this, and the two new flower beds which got some new herbs added to them yesterday:
- Indian mint
- Golden feverfew
- Bronze fennel
- Rosemary
- Flax
- Hyssop
- Sage
I now have a variegated sage, a purple sage (quite rampant this one) and an ordinary sage. Lets hear it for the three wise men!
