Knitting, Interrupted

Last night was evidently not the night to knit. Certainly not double rib lace. Halfway through a right-side row, the phone rang. Cats being less easily put to one side than knitting, we got to answer it. A pleasant conversation with M's mother ensued.
Returned to the row, somehow succeeding in not dropping any stitiches (or forgetting to create the requisite number of new ones), and went on to the next. The phone rang again (twice in one evening is really unusual: we get less than one call a week on average). Knitting being easier to abandon than a nice hot bath, we answered. It was L ringing to remind us about the filk con (so, yes, all three of us should be going).
Finished row. Gave up with 110 stitches still intact. No further calls.
