Okay, so we know no-one reading LJ can actively intervene, but we've lost our watch and our one ring (no, not that one, just the tiny one we wear on the little finger of our right hand). We know, since we've lost both, that the latter is hanging from the closed strap of the former and that we picked them up to put them on earlier on today (this eliminates the falling off or being lost in rubber gloves scenarios). We've checked the obvious spots: the bedside table in case we didn't pick them up; the shelves in the kitchen; beside both PCs; under the big cat, several times in several locations. We might have put them down somewhere more random, having spent most of the day chasing around after the small cat with s**t plastered across its a**e, trying to wash cat and clear up smearage. We feel naked if just one of these itmes is missing: with both gone, it's like being flayed.
And, yes, we did check in our pocketses.

Date: 2004-02-04 04:18 pm (UTC)And yes, feline intervention could account for the missing articles, especially as one cat being a little niffy means she can't hide from her bully of a brother quite so easily: normally out of sight is enough since he can't hear her, but he evidently hunts by scent as well as sight.
