Moggy Stuff

Biggle still has problems. You wouldn't know it to look at him: he's sleek, bright-eyed, clean-nosed, and as loud-mouthed as ever. But his pee is alkaline and there's blood present. So we change his diet (the smelly "medicinal" cat food) and again try to work out what's causing the stress that's the only cause the vet can think of.
We owe it to him and his ancestors: they've been with us even longer than the time of the Ancient Egyptians.

Date: 2004-04-22 02:48 am (UTC)We had one smelly cushion when we got back from our holidays, but no other signs of "accidents".
We've been feeding both of the cats medicated food for the best part of a year: they were both beginning to be overweight and at one point both had dodgy urine. We tried the "urinary" (Royal Canin?) stuff in sachets and Little went on hunger strike. So we went onto the dry stuff, which they both like. Big's now switched brand to Hill's and is on anti-inflammatories too. It seems entirely unnecessary: he looks fine and dandy. But we may well stick with one of the medicated foods. We did the sums and the cost's about the same and it did help with the weight reduction too.
