We rejoiced: finally there was a point to BBC3. It was the place to watch the new series of Coupling.

Sadly, something's missing. It's not so much that they're extracting the Michael as that Jeff's disappeared. And it's about 90% less funny. This does mean the odd laugh, but we can't see ourselves roaring for a full half-hour episode (which we did).

We've given it a two episode trial and that's it. We quit too.

Wasn't this the third episode?

We had the 9 and a half minutes one (introducing the Jeff replacement, the sad science fiction bookshop owner, which makes me cringe a little, and yes, losing Jeff has really hurt the series) ... and we had, erm, whatever last weeks one was (frightening how I can't remember a *single* thing about it!), and now we've had the "not staying the Knight" or whatever episode.

It's fun that they are trying to do different things each episode, but it is a lot less funny ... I was amused last night about at least one of the things that was brought up (the extra limbed bed octopus bit) as I hadn't realised it was such a general "man" thing and thought it just happened to me!
