So, Saturday we did Saturday stuff: M and Looby Loo to swimming, LL and me to music, LL to a friend's house for the afternoon. Hence the peace. Then daleks. So that was OK.
Sunday, after numerous child-induced delays we went to Kentwell. Looby Loo not keen until she saw the smithy. She's have apprenticed herself straight off if six-year old girls were allowed to do that. Finally, we dragged her away as far as the loft with the looms and spinning wheels, where we stayed, missing all the May Day revelry outside, whilst she watched weaving, carding, spinning, until we dragged her away. She was engrossed with all the activities. She'd make a good Tudor. Had very nice Kentwell lamb chops for supper.
Monday, after the usual child-induced delays, we went to the Reach Fair and rides and ice cream and so on. A little too hot and crowded, but enough rides that we didn't have to go to the funfair in town as well. Walked back to the car park in the next village along on top of The Devil's Dyke. When asked what she'd enjoyed the most about the afternoon, it was the walk that LL chose, so we could have omitted all fairground activity--even the rather disappointing duelling knights--entirely.
I think that counts as a good load of Early May Bank Holiday activities.
Did I mention too hot? NO? Well then: TOO HOT!
