Now we have a DVD player (a family Xmas present), I've set about acquiring DVDs. M set me off with a three pack of A Knight's Tale (perhaps my favourite movie ever), The Princess Bride (mainly for M: I've never got it), and The Mask of Zorro (which I quite enjoyed). To compliment that, I've now ordered another triple pack with Highlander, the animated version of Lord of the Rings and The Lost Boys, three more old favourites. So I'm the only one in the household to own any DVDs (except a freebie from the front of a Saturday newspaper).

It's a pre-emptive strike. I'm building a range of antidotes for the point at which Looby Loo starts acquiring Barbie DVDs.

Not being an acquisitive corvid myself, I am a netflix junkie. Having DVDs come and go and always have a couple on hand to watch works realy well for me.

Good thought. These ones, A Knight's Tale especially, I'd need to rent about monthly. I think I watched A Knight's Tale six times on various TV channels last year. Not that I'm obsessed, not at all ;-)

I have a number of music DVDs you might be interested in, plus a large number of films and TV series that could be borrowed if you ever find yourself with plenty of time :-)

I believe it is a multi-region one: it certainly cost the extra tenner that would indicate that!
