(Well, I mistyped it as "braking" which was the one thing that evidently didn't happen.)

Breaking news in the sense that something(s) got broken. But it's hardly on-the-spot up-to-the minute reporting (note how they cleverly omit date and time of the incident). The reporter knocked on the door on Monday. I told him I had nothing to say and hadn't they taken a long time to notice. Still, for the record.

Were this The Grauniad, I'd be tempted to get the correction to the details of the car: we loved our Skoda. And the description of what happened is frankly screwy.

Well, they finally got there, I suppose. Trust the council to try and make political capital out of it, though.

The council thing's complicated 'cos the road's a divided responsibility between County and City. But, yeah, the local politicians are all interested (the local County Councillor has just become a governor at school and we chatted on tuesday, the LibDems visit to deliver M's LibDem newspaper so got to see the aftermath and the Greens happened to be leafleting at the right/wrong time).

Thank you again for Saturday, btw. It was a relief not to have to cook and lack of space at the weekends is going to become what my evil ex-employers would describe as an "issue" (and I'd be more blunt about!).

I was going to post a link in case you hadn't seen it. Typical timely and accurate CEN reporting, I must say. I wasn't too impressed by Margaret Wright sticking her oar either.
